NDC, or New Distribution Capability, is a travel industry standard for flight content distribution and retailing that applies to airlines, aggregators, and travel sellers.
New Distribution Capability is a technology standard developed by the IATA to improve communications between airlines and travel sellers and transform the way air products are retailed to leisure and business travelers. NDC is not a system, database, or piece of software; it is a data exchange standard and is open to any third party, intermediary, or IT provider to use.
IATA, the International Air Transportation Association, recognized an opportunity to create a new data exchange standard based on XML, allowing for a better flight shopping, booking, and post-booking experience.
